Rudy has been able to support other company’s gear from a networking perspective in a way I’ve never seen a vendor behave. Most are quick to say that’s an issue with XYZ company, not us, call them. Rudy once helped me get a client’s printer back up when it stopped working. It wasn’t his problem, it wasn’t even mine, but he got it back on the network and the client was happy. Recently we were tasked by ELK to determine if with their RS232 to Ethernet interface (not XIN) could an ELAN systemcommunicate RS232 commands via the network to the panel. After two hours of calls to ELK and four guys fighting with it. We still got nowhere and were on the verge of saying “well I guess it doesn’t work.” A 3 minute (not an exaggeration) call with Rudy and it was up and running. The only response from all involved was “wow, what the hell did he do?” In short, CIS is the IT department we all need.
